My name is Ian McNaught Davis, and I’m a South African freelance photojournalist based in London.
I'm especially interested in documentary photography, NGO photography and recording the idiosyncrasies of human behaviour and daily life.
I have worked abroad as a cattle drover in the Australia Outback, a carpenter in Borneo, a teacher in Malaysia and a features writer in South Africa. Working in a variety of countries has influenced my photographic vision and my perspective of humans and their fascinating similarities within their differences.
My work has been featured on BBC News, GQ, OZY, HUCK Magazine, The New Humanitarian and Men's Health, and exhibited in galleries in London, Rome, Bologna, Cape Town, Suwon, Tbilisi and Kathmandu.
My NGO clients include UNDP, Save The Children and Operation Smile.
I'm currently working on a long-term project that explores the archetypes of masculinity.
If you'd like to get in touch for assignments, you're in luck because I have been saving all my best photographs for you. Email me at [email protected] and let's work together.
